Scorpion,
I've made some little changes that really altered my seating position. Try messing around with your handlebars (I went to mini-apes and now I sit up alot more).
If you go for Fwd Controls, I've seen a couple options. #1 - Armand had some cool ones (see link below). I think SeegerCycles imports the same ones but charges close to $500. I believe they move your feet about 6 inches forward. #2 - I just ordered a Highway Hawk set from a company in the Netherlands. It'll cost me around $360 or so depending on how the exchnage rates play out. The Europeans actually stock HH parts, so I shouldn't have to wait 6 months like some of the horror stories that you hear about American HH dealers. HH fwd controls move your feet forward by 4 inches. I'll post when I get them and let everyone know how it went- so far the company has been great (e-mails returned on same day, etc...) #3 - There are plans floating around for homemade forward controls. George posted them to his site. They are for 4 inches, but you could easily alter them to whatever size you want. This would obviously be the most cost effective method, but I just figured I wasn't getting around to it, so I'd cop out and buy some......
Good luck,
-Jim
